Security at the government sponsored quarantine facility has been increased following the breach which occurred on Sunday 6 December, 2020.
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that 377 COVID-19 tests have been carried out since this was last reported on Tuesday, 8 December 2020. One was positive.
An alleged breach of isolation protocols by a traveller who has been quarantining at a government sponsored facility has been reported to the Royal Cayman Island Police Service (RCIPS) and is currently under investigation.
As at December 4th there were currently 29 active cases of COVID-19 in Cayman.
This confirmation comes as Chief Medical Officer, Dr John Lee, reported on Friday that of 442 COVID-19 tests have been carried out on the previous 24 hours, one was positive.
