The RCIPS continues to receive reports of a WhatsApp scam circulating in the Cayman Islands, where the culprits gain access to the victim’s contact list.
Shortly after 1:30AM on Sunday, 14 July, officers in Cayman Brac responded to a report of a stabbing at the public beach on South Side West Road. It was reported that a man had been at the location when another man approached him and began behaving aggressively towards him
Investigations continue into the fatal stabbing which was reported on Sunday, 14 July. At about 9:30AM, police received a report that a man had been found unresponsive at an address in the vicinity of Short Lane, in the Windsor Park area of George Town.
The RCIPS is aware of a circulating fraudulent text message, purporting to be from Judicial KY, which suggests that the recipient owes outstanding fees to the court, and includes a link to review the file.
Just after 2: 30am today, 6 July, police and other emergency services were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Pasture Drive, Bodden Town.

For the entire month of July, the RCIPS is holding a National Gun Amnesty, working with key partners and stakeholders who are taking a stand against illegal guns in Cayman, aiming to appeal to those who have access to, or are aware of, illegal guns, in order to get them off the streets.
Shortly after 4:00AM on Wednesday, 19 June, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a restaurant on Eastern Avenue, south of the intersection with Godfrey Nixon Way.
Following its Easter Holiday Campaign this past March, the RCIPS is conducting another targeted road safety campaign commencing this coming Monday, as part of its efforts to reduce serious injuries and fatalities on our roads, and encourage safe driving behaviours.
