On Tuesday, 1st of February 2022, 34 officers successfully advanced in the RCIPS promotion process to the rank of Inspector and Sergeant at a ceremony held at the Westin Resort on Seven Mile Beach.
The RCIPS Senior Command Team recognised the need for a strong and experienced officer at the helm for the Sister Islands and so, after great consideration RCIPS Chief Inspector, Malcolm Kay was selected as the new Area Commander for the Sister Islands, based in Cayman Brac.

Shortly after 6:45PM yesterday, Tuesday, 8 February, police responded to a report of a female teenager found unresponsive at a residential address on Water Street, Bodden Town.
Police are investigating a hit and run collision involving a pedestrian, that took place at approximately 5:15PM on Thursday, 3 February at the Grand Harbour Roundabout in George Town.
Just after 8:40AM, Wednesday 2 February, police and other emergency services were dispatched to Kentsville Drive in George Town where it was reported that two men were fighting on a work site and one of the men was struck in the head with an object by the other, and badly injured.
Shortly after 2:00AM today, 28 January, officers responded to a report of a stabbing on Hirst Road, Bodden Town, in the vicinity of Butterfly Circle. It was reported that two men at the location were involved in an altercation with each other and both had received multiple stab wounds.
Thirty-one prisoners (one woman and 30 men) and 16 prison staff members currently have Covid-19, with only 60% of prisoners currently fully vaccinated with at least two doses of the vaccine
