The RCIPS Community Policing Unit delivered the first Crime Prevention Workshop for 2020 to Security Officers at National Security Services Limited last week. The workshop spanned five days and was facilitated by Sergeant Cornelius Pompey and Constable Christopher Donaldson.
As of Monday 10th August, the RCIPS has commenced the 2020 RCIPS Bi-annual Internship Programme which once again sees several interns being placed based on their academic interests in various operational and support services roles across the RCIPS and Cayman Islands Coastguard.
Just before 9PM on Saturday, 8 August, police and other emergency services were dispatched to a report of a two vehicle collision that took place along Walkers Road, in the vicinity of Academy Way.
Just before for 9:45PM on Friday 7 August, police and other emergency services were dispatched to a Mini Mart located along Rev Blackman Drive in West Bay. It was reported that a man attended the location seeking assistance for a serious laceration to one of his hands.
Just after 4:30AM on Saturday morning, police and other emergency services were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle collision involving a white Subaru Sunbar. The incident took place along Bodden Town Road in the vicinity of Long Fellow Circle, Bodden Town.
A 27-year-old-man of George Town has been charged with Assault GBH following an incident that took place on Thursday 30 July, when officers on patrol heard a person in distress at a residence on Pedro Castle Road in Bodden Town and rendered assistance to the parties involved.
Just about 10PM on Saturday 1 August, police had cause to stop a vehicle that was travelling with a trailered vessel attached. The vessel appeared to have recently been retrieved from a launching ramp on North Church Street in George Town.
The RCIPS and the Department of Agriculture Animal Control & Welfare Unit continue to promote responsible dog ownership initiatives in an effort to reduce the number of reports received.
On Wednesday 29 July, the RCIPS and Coast Guard recovered packages of suspected ganja that had been discovered by members of the public in two separate locations.
Shortly before 3:30AM on Saturday, 1 August, officers responded to a report of a stabbing incident at a nightclub on Canal Point Drive, George Town. It was reported that there was an altercation involving multiple persons.
