1 New COVID 19 death; 78 new cases onm Wednesday

Public Health has released COVID-19 figures for 5 May.


Unfortunately, an elderly patient with severe comorbidities has passed away. This brings total COVID-19 related deaths in the Cayman Islands to 28.


Positive cases reported to Public Health during this period are currently as follows:

There are 1,302 estimated active cases of COVID-19 in the Cayman Islands. Six persons are currently hospitalized for COVID-19 related causes, three of whom are unvaccinated.


The 7-day rolling average for 5 May is 97.


The Sister Islands reported 16 new cases, leaving total cases since the beginning of the pandemic at 809.
