National Children Voluntary Organisation (NCVO) wins $6,735
On November 10, 2022 100+ Women Who Care held their third and final event of this year at the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands with the target of making an impact within the Cayman community. The National Children Voluntary Organisation (NCVO) won the main pot of $6,735 donated by our members. Mangrove Education Project and Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association of the Cayman Islands (ADACI) both left with $1,000 thanks to our platinum sponsor Davenport Development. In total, the event raised $8,735.
After setting up in the serene sculpture gardens we were unfortunately caught off guard by a brief downpour but thanks to the gallery staff, volunteers, and vendors the event moved inside and the show went on!
At the start of the evening, after donating $100 CI, all women were welcomed with a raffle ticket, a voting card, a limited-edition member t-shirt sponsored by Caribbean Creations, Vintage & Invenio Global, and a complimentary drink provided by this year’s drink sponsor KonTiki Liquor store. While catching up with friends and making new acquaintances, members also had the opportunity to browse and buy their early Christmas gifts from a holiday themed pop-up night market full of local businesses showcasing their services and products.
At 6:30pm everyone moved to the exhibition hall where Daisy Lee, our emcee for the evening, started off the 5-minute charity presentations. Pamela Webster presented for NCVO, Cassandra MacDowell for Mangrove Education Project, and Samantha Conolly for ADACI. After their time was up, all members voted for their favorite to win and the volunteers counted up the cash and votes behind the scenes whilst so many raffle prizes were awarded and we topped up our refreshments at the Kon Tiki bar and stilled our appetite at the Al La Kebab food truck. Gold Sponsor Kensington Management Ltd. donated towards our costs for the evening which helped make it a magical evening at such a beautiful venue.
