12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS CHARITY

Holiday Campaign Giving Back to 12 On-Island Charities and Organizations

Michael Binckes, Sales Associate with RE/MAX Cayman Islands, is launching his 2nd annual 12 Days of Christmas campaign giving back to 12 on-island charities and organizations that support our community each and every day.

Starting on December 9th and continuing through December 20th, Michael Binckes will be donating each day to a different charity or organization on island, but it’s not just about giving money but rather bringing some Christmas cheer.

“Last year I launched the 12 Days of Christmas campaign, and it was a huge success,” added Michael Binckes. “This was an idea that my family and I came up with as we wanted to focus on giving back to charities and organizations that can often get overlooked during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Our goal was to make this an annual event.”

“We wanted to do more than just give money to local charities so I, along with my wife and son, will be buying food for the dogs at One Dog at a Time. We will be delivering flowers to Jasmine. My son is also personally donating some of his books, along with other books we will be purchasing for Life: Literacy is for Everyone and toys for NCVO” added Michael Binckes.

“Instead of just focusing on charities this year, we also wanted to give our thanks to both the fire department at the Airport and in West Bay, as well as the police station downtown,” added Michael. “We will be delivering cookies to them as a way of saying thank you for all you do throughout the year. In the past, like most parents, we’ve given lots of gifts to our 13-year-old son, but this year we’ve told him that there won’t be as many presents under the tree. We are helping others who need assistance especially at this time of the year and what’s great is that he is having fun being a part of this new tradition. I think my son is most excited about visiting the fire department.”

The charities we have chosen for this year’s 12 Days of Christmas are:

1. Union Christmas Drive

2. Beacon Farms

3. Fire Department at the Airport

4. Fire Department in West Bay

5. Police Station downtown

6. Jasmine

7. Life: Literacy is for Everyone

8. Meals on Wheels

9. NCVO

10. One Dog at a Time

11. Inclusion Cayman

12. The Pines

“The Cayman Islands have been my home for 14 years now and my family and I have been truly welcomed. Our annual celebration of the 12 Days of Christmas is just something that we can do to give back.”
