The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that as of 8a.m. Wednesday, 20 October, there had been 926 PCR tests since the last report on Tuesday, 19 October.
From these, there were 24 positive test results, including nine positive tests in travellers and 15 positive tests from the community. Three children were among the community positives.
The two people admitted to hospital remain stable and do not require the support of a ventilator; one of these was admitted directly to ICU and is not vaccinated.
To date, there have been 111,027 COVID-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, 55,991 (79 percent of 71,106) have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 53,684 (75 percent) have completed the two-dose course. Additionally, 1,352 persons (representing seven percent of those over the age of 50) have had a third, or booster, dose.
