Anguilla this week continued to grapple with a worsening COVID-19 crisis with a sudden explosion of cases.
In the past week, the island has been besieged by a surge of over 50 cases which has forced it in lockdown until May 6th.
Extensive contact tracing is being carried out while authorities try to find out the source of the outbreak.
Restrictions have been imposed on movement within the island and its borders have been closed except for departing passengers.
Anguilla has intensified its COVID-19 vaccination programme.
The Governor, Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam, said; “The Premier and I understand these are unsettling times. We would like to place on record our deep gratitude to all individuals within the Health team who continue to demonstrate unwavering commitment and public service in driving forward the public health response to keep us safe.”
