A special benefit concert will take place at the Coral Beach, West Bat Road on Wednesday 26th July to raise funds for Musician Mitch Ebanks’ aftercare expenses, following surgery to remove a brain tumor.
The event will feature artists such as Hi Tide, JR Douglas Combo, Stuart Wilson and Musical Crew, as well as Dj Mix Master, Dj Martino and D Archie.
Organisers for the event to raise funds for Mr. Ebanks noted that the evening will feature a barbecue on the beach, as well as an extended happy hour, with proceeds from going toward aiding the musician’s aftercare.
Ebanks, who is known in musical circles as “Jah Mitch” has been a stalwart of the musical scene in the Cayman Islands for over 5 decades, contributing as a songwriter and composer.
Known for albums such as ‘Got to Have Love’ and songs like ‘Parade’ and ‘Search the Town’, ‘Jah Mitch’s’ work has spanned the entirety of Cayman’s presence on the world stage as an international tourism destination.
He has also contributed to the musical development of many artists in the Cayman Islands, including Jean Eric Smith (Notch) and other notable acts and is best know for his work on the guitar, which includes Reggae and Jazz styles.
Showtime for the fundraiser to assist Jah Mitch begins at 4pm and runs until 11pm.
