Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) has been working with the Cayman Islands Fire Service (CIFS) to help get the fire truck in Little Cayman back up and running by transporting the necessary truck parts from Grand Cayman via scheduled flights to Cayman Brac this morning, where CIFS was able to send the parts by boat to Little Cayman.
As a result of the Little Cayman fire truck still being inoperable this morning, Cayman Airways Express’ morning flights KX4420 and KX4421 had to be cancelled. Affected passengers were safely shuttled from Little Cayman to Cayman Brac by boat, where some were flown to Grand Cayman via an extra Express flight that was added to accommodate the need for additional seats.
CAL has since been advised by the Fire Service that the fire truck in Little Cayman has been fixed, so this afternoon’s Express flights will operate as scheduled in and out of Little Cayman.
