Cayman Art Week attracts art lovers to venues across all three Cayman Islands

Visitors flock to John Reno Jackson’s open studio during CAW22

Cayman Art Week is set to return for a third year from Tuesday 30 May to Saturday 3 June 2023 at venues across all three Cayman Islands. Five days of exhibitions and events, all free and open to the public, are designed to showcase Cayman’s flourishing art scene.

Founded in 2021 to support local artists during the pandemic, Cayman Art Week has quickly established itself as a hot ticket in the community calendar, attracting hundreds of art lovers, buyers and collectors to participating galleries, studios and pop-up shows throughout the week.

Each day focuses on a different district with free buses making it easy to visit multiple venues in one go. Live music, artists in residence, panels of experts and food and drink specials add to the party atmosphere along CAW routes.

Cayman Art Week founder Natalie Urquhart said, “We hope Cayman Art Week will help put Cayman on the map as a creative hub by showcasing our local talent and attracting the interest of overseas collectors and curators. We also want to inspire young people to pursue their artistic dreams and fulfil their creative potential by connecting to like-minded professional creatives throughout the week.”

Cayman Art Week is supported by partners in the public and private sectors, including CAW patron Mrs Susan E. Olde, the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, George Town Revitalisation, and Provenance Properties Cayman Islands. Sponsorship allows all proceeds from the sale of artwork to go directly to artists and galleries. Last year, CAW22 generated more than $200,000 in sales.

Artists, venues and sponsors interested in participating in Cayman Art Week 2023 should contact the CAW23 team at info@caymanartweek.com .
