Cayman Brac youth encouraged to apply for Le Soleil d’Or internship

Tourism 05 Mar, 2025 Follow News

Young Caymanians residing in Cayman Brac are encouraged to apply for a unique opportunity to gain experience and training in the hospitality industry through an internship at Le Soleil d’Or.

Le Soleil d’Or, part of the Dart hospitality portfolio, is an intimate boutique resort that has gained international acclaim. The three-month internship provides exposure to various aspects of operations, including front desk, housekeeping and food and beverage operations, as well as at the property’s 20-acre farm. Participants will have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals, gaining insights and skills that will lay the foundation for their future careers in hospitality.

“We are thrilled to continue this internship for another year. This opportunity is tailor-made for the Cayman Brac community,” said Dianne Conolly, Dart’s hospitality programme manager. “Following on the success of last year, we are eager to welcome new participants to develop their skills while learning from established industry professionals and, hopefully, go on to pursue their careers to authentically showcase the best the Cayman Islands has to offer.”

Since 2022, dozens of young Caymanians have benefited from the Dart Hospitality Training Programme, which expanded to include the Le Soleil d’Or internship in 2024, when three interns impressed staff during their three months of training - one of whom went on to secure employment at the resort.

“Providing opportunities for our young people to not only be exposed to the industry but to develop practical skills are important for the development of the Cayman Islands and its tourism product. This also aligns with our sustainable approach to development by providing these opportunities for our youth to acquire the skills and experience they need to thrive,” said Joanne Lawson, Dart’s chief of staff.

The internship is open to young Caymanians aged 17 to 30 who have recently completed their secondary or tertiary education and reside in Cayman Brac. Applicants should demonstrate their passion for learning, commitment to personal growth and interest in the hospitality industry.

Those interested in applying should do so before the 14 April 2025 deadline. Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend and basic health insurance during the internship. Upon completion of the programme, participants will have the opportunity to apply for any vacant positions at Le Soleil d’Or.
