CAYMAN CONVERSATIONS RETURNS WITH EXPANDED FORMAT

CITA President Marc Langevin

J A Roy Bodden

Michael Myles

The Caymanian Times landmark interview series Cayman Conversations is back with an expanded format for the current series.

Hosted by Caymanian Times publisher Ralph Lewis the new series will as usual feature a range of informed (and opinionated) guests from a cross-section representative of Cayman society.

From business to community organisations, government, major and cottage industries people making inroads in all walks of life and endeavour - there’s a space in Cayman Conversations for a wide array of voices to be heard and issues discussed.

A new special addition to the programme reflects Caymanian Times’ commitment to the arts, especially music.

For the first time, a complete segment is dedicated to promoting the music and artists of the Cayman Islands. Selected tracks will be played in the live broadcast with video uploads featured in the online output on Facebook and YouTube.

Keeping track of trends in Cayman, the programme has already been addressing how to maintain the bounce back in the tourism industry following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Marc Langevin, General Manager, The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman and former chairman of the Cayman Islands Tourism Association(CITA) has told us that rather than focusing on peak seasons, the sector is now looking at a full 10-month run due to growing demand. That is a major shift from how the industry normally does business.

Noted historian and academic Dr Roy Bodden has a new book in the works in which he examines three critical aspects which have formed the foundation of the modern Cayman Islands. He tells us about the pressing issues behind ‘Immigration, Society and the Economy in the 21st Century Cayman Islands’, his latest work which comes out in the fall.

We get an update from Michael Myles founder of Inspire Cayman on his latest initiative, Inspiring Hope, focusing on education, training and life skills coaching for Caymanians.

Leaders in education are also having their say with the University College of the Cayman Islands(UCCI) having a regular slot and health, tourism, transportation and other sectors being scheduled.

With Cayman in post-pandemic recovery mode, programme host of Cayman Conversations Ralph Lewis, publisher of Caymanian Times, says both the programme and the paper are now even better positioned to contribute to and reflect trends in the society.

Cayman Conversations is live Monday to Thursday on  89.1FM in a targeted midday segment from 12:30 to 2:00 pm with live streaming and playback on Caymanian Times Facebook and YouTube pages.
