Even though the Cayman Islands has been shut to tourists since March 2020, visitors to the country have clearly not forgotten the lure of this destination, as the Cayman Islands has recently been recognised in magazine Condé Nast Traveler’s 2021 Readers’ Choice Award as a top island to visit in the Caribbean and the Atlantic.
Cayman was named one of the ‘Best Islands to Visit in the Caribbean and the Atlantic’. The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism said it was pleased to accept the honour from Condé Nast Traveler readers this year.
More than 800,000 travellers submitted responses rating their experiences across the globe to help narrow down the best of the best – from destinations and resorts to airlines, luggage, and car rentals. The Readers’ Choice Awards programme is the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry.
Minister for Tourism and Transport Kenneth Bryan said: “We are honoured to be recognised as a premier travel destination, especially now as we’ve begun to welcome tourists back to our trio of unique islands once again.”
Minister Bryan said that Condé Nast Traveler was one of the most respectable publications in the industry, and the accolade solidified that Cayman’s culture, cuisine and Caymankindness was among the best in the world.
The 2021 Readers' Choice Awards are published on Condé Nast Traveler's website at cntraveler.com/rca and celebrated in the November issue.
