CAYMAN ISLANDS DELEGATION VISITS RHODE ISLAND, USA TO KICK START GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR CAYMANIANS
In a historic move aimed at opening up global opportuniies for Caymanian students, whilst breaking down financial barriers to educaion, key representatives from the Cayman Islands’ Ministry of Education and the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) embarked on a collaborative journey last week to Rhode Island, USA.
Central to the visit to Rhode Island was the opportunity for the Cayman Islands’ representatives to immerse themselves in life at New England Institute of Technology (NEIT); UCCI’s partner institution in Rhode Island. The delegation’s itinerary included tours of NEIT’s state-of-the-art facilities, meetings with faculty and staff, as well as interactions with global companies that have long standing partnerships with NEIT; IGT and FM Global.
The partnership between UCCI and NEIT promises to revolutionize global educational opportunities for Caymanian students by offering a unique support package that will allow fully-funded, all-expenses-paid degrees in high-demand fields.
In addition to Government scholarships, eligible Caymanian students will receive up to $10,000 per year in financial support for living expenses, which is offered by NEIT directly. Students will have the opportunity to reside on NEIT’s campus at no cost, in one of its 200 top-of-the-range student bedrooms, providing a secure and immersive educational experience. The luxury building includes study areas on each hall, social spaces, gaming rooms, top of the range kitchens and much more. In addition, designated staff are available each day to support and assist international students when setling into life in Rhode Island.

Not only does NEIT have a safe, leafy , 250-acre campus, it also has staff dedicated to supporting its small international cohort of students, plus live in staff at the halls of residence and activities each day on campus to help international students make friends and acclimatize. Students at NEIT also learn using world-class facilities and technology which can hugely increase their employability and career opportunities once graduated.
