Cayman’s political arena has a new force to reckon with regarding the launch of the Cayman Islands National Party(CINP).

The party is led by Caymanian international accountant Dan Scott, a candidate for the Cayman Brac East constituency.

On a campaign theme of ‘A New Way Forward’, the party says it offers “a visionary platform focused on a number of districts and national priorities, including topical issues and pressing challenges facing the country.”

The CINP said it aims to inspire positive change and build a thriving nation for all Caymanian citizens.

“Create a higher quality of life in a secure, sustainable Cayman Islands”. It said this mission is led by visionary leaders with a formula for success, grounded in tradition, values and heritage driven by the future. A mission of unity, prosperity and hope.”

Speaking at the launch event in the Cayman Brac East constituency, a stronghold of Premier Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, Mr Scott a Caymanian accountant with a prominent international profile, affirmed: “Our country is at a critical crossroads, and we must approach this next election thoughtfully and with extreme caution.”

He said: “Our next government must possess the vision for a stronger and more hopeful Cayman Islands, the humility to listen to our Caymanian citizens, and the tenacity to get things done.”

Addressing concerns specific to Cayman Brac, Mr Scott gave this assurance.

“Cayman Brac has always been dear to my heart because of its closely-knit community embedded in peace and church life. My passion is now to give back to the community that nurtured me. Past policies have failed to improve the life of Brackers, but with over 40 years in the financial industry, I am prepared to lead this new way forward.”

He also said: “The elderly would be cared for diligently, bring private and public sector jobs, better-paying salaries, improved Health Care and Pension benefits.”

He also committed to reducing the cost of living in Cayman Brac by addressing freight costs and bringing in a new crane.

“Brackers should not have to go to Grand Cayman for basic medical treatments. We will also move to address the crime wave, secure our borders, address the loud music in neighbourhoods, and support law enforcement to ensure they deliver on their responsibilities,” Mr Scott stated.

The MC, Anthony Ritch, labelled the CINP leader as ‘Dan, the man with the plan’ to exuberant reaction from the crowd.

With an eleven-member team to date, Mr Scott who is contesting in Cayman Brac East is accompanied by Nickolas Da Costa as candidate for the Cayman Brac West seat.

He described his party’s leader as “astute, committed, dependable, resilient and experienced, especially in the area of finance.”

Also speaking was William Hurlstone who led the event in prayer.

Annie Rose Scott dedicated a poem in honour of Dan Scott’s father, the educator and founder of Layman E. Scott High School and a pioneer of education on the sister islands.

The platform for the occasion was also shared by veteran political strategist Mr Temple and Burns Rutty from Grand Cayman.

The Cayman Islands National Party(CINP) leader Dan Scott concluded the event by urging Brackers “for a better plan vote Nickolas and Dan.”
