On Sunday 12th of January 2020, several members of the Executive Board held a meeting at George Town’s Constitution Hall, and during the course of the meeting, they entertained nominations to elect new Executive Members of the Association. This meeting followed a Resolution by the members mentioned to call an AGM before the annually scheduled meeting of March 1, 2020, and, in violation of the Associations Constitution.
It is therefore with great regret that as the legal President of the Association that I must notify all members of the Association, and the Cayman Public, that the purported AGM as was held on the 12th of January 2020 is null and void. Therefore, a proper constituted Annual General meeting of the Association will be held on March 1st 2020 at Georgetown Constitution Hall at 1 pm. Accordingly, any interaction with the person(s) who claimed to be elected as Executive pursuant to the meeting held on January 12th, 2020 will be at the sole risk of those persons so doing.
The Cayman Islands Music and Entertainment Association thanks the Public for their understanding and kind cooperation for these many years that CMEA has been in existence. We look forward to continue working with the Membership and the Public in furtherance of the local Music Industry.
