As the sun began to set at West Bay’s Bacaro restaurant, the fire of innovation and entrepreneurship was burning bright: It was the official launch of the Cayman National Mastercard Business Debit Card.

MC for  the evening and professional communicator, Tammi Sulliman welcomed the gathering: “With the Mastercard Business Debit Card, Cayman National Bank has taken a major step in empowering entrepreneurs and small to medium businesses –  and that’s the beating heart of any economy in any jurisdiction,” she said

“The card is streamlined to help day-to-day operations, and improve cash flow management while offering freedom …to make payments globally with the confidence that comes from the MasterCard brand. Be one of the many businesses in your sector to enjoy the many advantages of what many regard as an incredible tool. If you haven’t done so already, we encourage you to speak to your accounts manager about how to apply – and unlock the full potential of your business finances.

“We’re here to celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship, creativity and connection – and tonight’s theme is ‘Sunset fire reflects our Energy.’ The flame symbolizes the passionate innovation that entrepreneurs pour into their businesses – it’s a fire that drives them to reach new heights and create opportunities – for themselves, for their families and for their communities. Think about the power of innovation and how tools like the Cayman National Mastercard World Business Debit Card are helping businesses like yours succeed.”

Janet Hislop, CEO of Cayman National Corporation and President of Cayman National Bank, spoke briefly about Cayman National’s remarkable contribution to the Cayman Islands’ financial industry over its 51-year history, and its ongoing commitment to give Caymanians an opportunity to participate in that industry.

“This product is part of our continuing evolution as a financial institution, adapting to the needs of our customers in an everchanging world. We recognize the importance of providing modern financial tools to enhance convenience, security, and flexibility.  Now, in our 51st year of operations, Cayman National remains deeply committed to innovation and progress. We plan to celebrate many more milestones like this one, and we will continue to offer solutions that support our customers, and drive business success across these Cayman Islands.”

Executive Vice-President, Group CIO & Digital Channels at Cayman National Corporation Billy Pennington said: “A few of the great benefits include: the card will offer purchase protection up to US $1000, identity theft protection up to US 750 dollars, no annual sign-up fee, as well as a competitive fee schedule paired with Cayman National Bank’s exceptional customer service. For those existing business clients, particularly those currently using Cayman National’s Personal Debit Cards for their business expenses, we will be reaching out to transition to the new World Business Debit to take advantage of all of the new benefits being offered.”

Mr. Pennington told the Caymanian Times: “This card’s important because it gives small and medium-sized businesses the ability to access their funds and to manage their funds with the benefit of world wide access that the MasterCard network allows.”
