The Cayman Carnival Batabano Committee is pleased to announce that Cayman National Corporation Ltd.will be a “Hawksbill” sponsor in the amount of CI$5,000 for Junior Batabano. The corporation has been a long standing supporter – previously sponsoring the T Shirt Design Competition and the inaugural Steel Pan Festival.
WendyAnn George, Junior Batabano Coordinator stated, “Sponsors play a tremendous part in helping to produce Junior Batabano. Cayman National sponsors a number of local initiatives that highlight their commitment to the islands. We are happy for their continued support in assisting us to produce this important cultural celebration.”

It’s a powerful reminder of our Islands’ creativity, traditions and community. Each school participates and showcases their unique meaning of heritage through the music, dance, and costumes while inspiring us all to preserve the traditions of the past and carry on Caymanian Pride.”
Cayman Carnival Junior Batabano celebrates twenty one years and the public is invited to come out and enjoy all the events on Saturday 22 April from 2pm to 6pm at the lawns of the Old Glass House. The Family Fun Day kicks off at 2pm and the Costumed Street Parade starts at 4pm.
Participating schools are Sir John A Cumber Primary, Cayman International School, St. Ignatius, Joanna Clarke Primary, Prospect Primary and Edna Moyle Primary. Spectators can look forward to a colourful display of costumes depicting the theme “Ah Hearing Drums.”
The Family Fun Day promises to be filled with treats and delights. There will be games such as Feed the Turtle and Bucket Toss and a Photo Booth where children can take a picture with their favourite turtle.
Cayman Carnival Batabano is a registered NPO. All sponsorship received goes back into the community and various other non-profits, through the events put on by Cayman Carnival Batabano. The Committee members are all volunteers and do not receive any remuneration for their work.
