Cayman Prep and St. Ignatius Catholic retain top spots

Action from the East End Primary (Blue) vs. St. Ignatius Catholic game.

Round 5 of the 2022 Inter-Primary Cricket Competition continued on Thursday, June 2 prior to the long weekend break.

In Zone A, St. Ignatius Catholic continued their unbeaten run with a hard-fought 90 run to 89 run victory over East End Primary. In the only other game played, Cayman Prep B defeated Theoline L. McCoy Primary 112 runs to 90 runs to maintain pressure on the young men and women from St. Ignatius Catholic. The match between Edna Moyle Primary and Joanna Clarke Primary was postponed and will be re-scheduled at a later date. Prospect Primary were not scheduled to play.

In Zone B, Cayman Prep A got past Cayman International School 42 runs to 41 runs to remain undefeated going into Round 6. The two other scheduled games in Zone B, Sir John A. Cumber Primary vs. Red Bay Primary and Cayman Academy vs. George Town Primary, were postponed and will be played at a later date.

The 2022 regular season continues this Friday, June 10 with Round 6 games in Zone A including Edna Moyle Primary vs. Theoline L. McCoy Primary (at Edna Moyle Primary), Joanna Clarke Primary vs. East End Primary (at Joanna Clarke Primary) and St. Ignatius Catholic vs. Prospect Primary (at the Annex Field). Cayman Prep B are not scheduled to play.

Round 6 games in Zone B games will be played on Friday, June 17.

The Inter-Primary Cricket Competition is organised and coordinated by the Department of Education Services and the Department of Sports and sponsored by CUC and the Cayman Cricket Association.
