Cloudiness and showers are expected around the Cayman Islands over the next few days, according to the Cayman Islands National Weather Service.

A cold front over the central Gulf of Mexico is expected to move over the extreme Northwest Caribbean by tomorrow morning, supporting light to moderate southeasterly winds along with slight to moderate seas across the Cayman area over the next 24 hours.

Further to the north, Radar images show isolated and scattered showers in and around the Cayman area moving towards the northwest.

The official forecast for Thursday, 27th February, calls for: partly cloudy skies; becoming cloudy by afternoon with a 30% chance of showers.

Winds are expected to be Northerly at 5 to 10 knots during Thursday morning, and north to northeasterly at 10 to 15 knots from the afternoon; increasing to 15 to 20 knots late at night.

Seas are expected to be slight to moderate with wave heights of 2 to 4 feet during the day; increasing to rough (4 to 6 feet) late at night.

Small craft should continue to exercise caution over open waters from Thursday, 27th February to Sunday, March 1st, as higher swells are likely to affect the north and western coast of Grand Cayman.
