Just before 12:15PM on Wednesday, 22 April, police and emergency services were dispatched to a collision on Bodden Town Road in the Pease Bay area. The collision involved a dump truck which was travelling westbound towards George Town, and a sedan heading eastbound in the opposite direction.
It is believed that the dump truck drifted into the oncoming lane and collided with the sedan. The driver of the sedan was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by officers from the Cayman Islands Fire Service. He was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening-injuries.
The matter is currently under investigation.
