Shortly before 3:15PM on Monday, 23 September, officers responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Sea View Road in East End involving a school bus and a private vehicle. Both vehicles were travelling eastbound when they collided. Emergency services attended the scene and eight students on the bus were transported for treatment for what appear to be minor aches and pains. The driver of the private vehicle was attended to on scene.
The matter is currently under police investigation.
On Tuesday, Department of Education Services (DES) Acting Director Tammy Banks-Dacosta said that the safety of our students is their first concern. “We will always take the necessary precautions to ensure the well-being of our students,” she added.
As part of DES’ emergency procedure, Clifton Hunter High School (CHHS) Principal Dr Richard Wildman was quickly on the scene.
