Conyers is proud to announce that Alex Potts KC has been shortlisted in the ‘Pro Bono KC of the Year’ category at Advocate’s Bar Pro Bono Awards 2022.
The awards are an opportunity to highlight the Pro Bono initiatives of members of the Bar working in the UK and internationally, and to celebrate the achievements of champions for ‘access to justice’.
Alex’s nomination and shortlisting reflects Conyers’ and Alex’s commitment to Pro Bono legal work in Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, and the British Virgin Islands, in addition to Conyers’ charitable work in all of its international offices.
Alex’s Pro Bono work in recent years has focussed on courtroom advocacy in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, in cases promoting and protecting Constitutional and human rights, and environmental protection. Alex has also advised and represented a number of Pro Bono clients in cases involving allegations of professional negligence, or breaches of professional or regulatory standards.
Advocate is the national Pro Bono charity of the Bar of England and Wales, matching members of the public in need of legal assistance with lawyers who are willing to donate their time and expertise to deserving cases.
Since 1997, the Bar Pro Bono Awards have recognised the outstanding commitment to Pro Bono work by barristers working in the United Kingdom and internationally. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 2 November at Middle Temple Hall in London.
