COVID-19 Vaccination Team Recognised for Administering over 100k Doses

In recognition of their tremendous efforts to inoculate the people of the Cayman Islands against COVID-19, the COVID-19 Vaccination Team was treated to a special retreat focusing on renewing their physical and mental wellness.

The Grand Cayman team were welcomed by the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa on Friday 11 June for a full day of activities geared toward wellness, relaxation and team building. The day concluded with fellowship and dancing at a sunset happy hour at the Beach Deck at Seafire where the team was thanked by His Excellency the Governor Martyn Roper; Premier, Hon Wayne Panton, Deputy Governor, Hon Franz Manderson; Minister for Health & Wellness, Hon Sabrina Turner; CMO Dr John Lee and HSA Board & Senior Management.

On Tuesday 15 June in Cayman Brac, the Sister Islands vaccination team were treated to a tour of Le Soleil D’or’s world-renowned farm on the Bluff. The team was later joined by CMO Dr. John Lee, HSA Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Lizzette Yearwood and Chief Nursing Officer Dr. Hazel Brown for a special dinner reception at the Cayman Brac Beach Resort that evening.

“The vaccination team comprises of clinicians from all HSA departments who have sacrificed their personal time to deliver the vaccine to the people of the Cayman Islands,” said Chief Nursing Officer Dr. Hazel Brown. “This opportunity to rest as a team was much needed and well deserved.”

The events on both Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac were made possible by the generosity of the public and private sectors with contributions from Ministry of Health and Wellness, Ministry of Tourism and Transport, Dart, Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, Health City Cayman Islands, CINICO, Cayman Islands Tourism Association, Baptist Health International, CG BritCay, Deloitte, Maples Group, PwC & Logic.

The team also received several prize and gift bag donations from the local business community: AgileFit Fitness, Bella’s Beauty & Barber, Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, Chanda V Coaching, Department of Tourism, Fidelity, Green2Go, Himalaya Wellness, Kirk Freeport, Kirk Market, Mise en Place, Monograms & More, Pizza Hut, Property Doctors and Red Sail Sports.
