The annual Digicel Business golf day was an enjoyable event for all the 80 golfers who attended the event. This spectacular golf experience, held at North Sound Golf Club, was fun-filled and wildly successful. The event raised CI$15,000.00 and all proceeds have been donated to the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre.

“Digicel Business is proud to support the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre," said Mark Mimnagh Head of Business Sales. “It was such a great day and the event featured a large variety of sponsors and players which made for a successful day all around. I would also like to take this opportunity to thanks our sponsors once again, we are indeed better together.”

The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre provides safe shelter and hope for a life free from violence to women and their children since 2003. The Crisis Centre believes that domestic violence is a crime, whether the victim is a man, a woman or a child. They are looking to end the cycle of family violence in Cayman forever, through protecting and supporting women, men, parents – and equally important – children.

Diane McAuliffe, Chief Executive Officer for Digicel said, “We applaud the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre for all the work they do to provide safe shelter and hope for families, men, women & children experiencing domestic hardships. We are proud to contribute to this cause and we thank our all our sponsors who donated so much to the event as well The Crisis Centre… a terrific example of Cayman Community Care.”

The Digicel golf day event featured day sponsorships from Tortuga Rum Company, Salt Technology Group, Trac Automotive, Five Continents Financial, Sotheby’s International Realty and Walkers as well notable individual contributions from Conor O’Dea and Diane McAuliffe. Rounding up these contributions were monetary donations and raffle prizes donated by over 40 Digicel Partners which resulted in a lot of happy winners on the day.

Cayman Islands Crisis Centre Executive Director, Ania Milanowska said “We are very grateful to Digicel for choosing us to be the beneficiary of their golf tournament this year. They have been a great supporter of CICC, providing complimentary Kids Helpline and other services to us. This financial support is greatly appreciated and we would like to thank Digicel for taking a stand against domestic violence.
