The Zak Quappe Flight Scholarship (“ZQFS”) was set up by the family and friends of the late Zak Quappé, a commercial pilot and flight instructor who had a passion for flying from an early age. The scholarship fund has helped students who otherwise did not have the means to afford to attend a flight school in Florida to gain their initial pilot training.
The committee has observed that other entities have since stepped up to help young pilots and have agreed to wind down the ZQFS efforts.
Funds remaining from donations in the amount of KYD $12,169.89 will be gifted to the consistently dedicated high school group, who guide students of Clifton Hunter who are interested in this first phase of becoming a pilot. We wish to thank the former head of that program Alfred Gordon and now Chris Harris for keeping this program at a high standard and who will use the funds to help more students. As always, the committee wishes to thank all our generous donors over the years and wish all pilots a long and exciting career in flying.
