East End Primary tops Zone A in the 2023 Inter-Primary Cricket Competition

Action from the Cayman Prep B (batting) and Sir John A. Cumber Primary A girls game.

East End Primary topped Zone A with a perfect record of five wins out of five after five rounds of play in the 2023 Boys Inter-Primary Cricket competition. Play in Zone B (boys) and Zone A and B (girls) concludes on Friday, June 16 with the semi finals scheduled for the following week.

Results from week 5 included:

Zone A Girls: Sir John A. Cumber Primary A defeated Cayman Prep B 42 runs to 41 runs and East End Primary got the better of Cayman Academy 77 runs to 51 runs. Edna Moyle Primary was not scheduled to play.

Zone B Girls: St. Ignatius Catholic beat Red Bay Primary 77 runs to 48 runs, Sir John A. Cumber Primary B got past Prospect Primary 58 runs to 48 runs and Cayman International School (CIS) downed George Town Primary 59 runs to 56 runs. Red Bay Primary was not scheduled to play.

Zone A Boys: East End Primary topped Edna Moyle Primary 62 runs to 61 runs. The game between Cayman Academy and Cayman Prep B was re-scheduled for a later date.

Zone B Boys: St. Ignatius Catholic beat Red Bay Primary 80 runs to 76 runs, Prospect Primary downed Sir John A. Cumber Primary 71 runs to 50 runs and CIS beat George Town primary 55 runs to 54 runs. Cayman Prep A was not scheduled to play.

Round 6 of the 2023 season continues this Friday, June 9 with a full schedule of games including:

Zone A Girls: Sir John A. Cumber Primary A vs. Theoline L. McCoy Primary, Cayman Academy vs. Cayman Prep B (at the Annex Field) and East End Primary vs. Edna Moyle Primary (at Edna Moyle Primary). Joanna Clarke Primary is not scheduled to play.

Zone B Girls: Sir John A. Cumber Primary B vs. St. Ignatius Catholic, CIS vs. Prospect Primary (at Prospect Primary) and Cayman Prep A vs. George Town Primary (at the Annex Field). Red Bay Primary is not scheduled to play.

Zone B Boys: Sir John A. Cumber Primary vs. St. Ignatius Catholic (at Red Bay Primary), CIS vs. Prospect Primary (at Prospect Primary) and Cayman Prep A vs. George Town Primary (at the Annex Field). Red Bay Primary is not scheduled to play.

The semi finals of the Inter-Primary Cricket Competition takes place on Wednesday, June 21.

The Inter-Primary Cricket Competition is organised and coordinated by the Department of Education Services and the Department of Sports and sponsored by CUC and the Cayman Cricket Association.
