February Visitation Sets Pace for a Strong 2025

Hon Kennth Bryan

The Cayman Islands welcomed 85,998 stayover visitors between January and February 2025 up 7.4% from the same period in 2024. February saw 44,589 stayover visitors arrive on our shores, an increase of 7% year over year.

“February’s numbers show that we are on pace for growth in 2025 and we anticipate a strong Q1 for visitation and accompanying revenue from Tourism Accommodation Taxes,” said the Hon. Kenneth Bryan, Deputy Premier and Minister of Tourism and Ports.

The United States continued to be the largest source of visitors with numbers increasing by 7.4% when compared to February 2024. Leading this growth were visitors from the Northeast, up 18.5% year over year and the West, up 15.3% year over year.

In the Northeast this increase was fuelled by strong air service in the New York and Boston area. In February, JetBlue increased its seat capacity and number of flights from the Boston area while Cayman Airways and United maintained their service from JFK and Newark.  In the West, visitors from Los Angeles and Denver fuelled the double-digit increase.

Canada continued to show strong growth in February with 4,151 visitors, up approximately 10% from February 2024. This increase in visitation for January and February came on the heels of the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism’s (CIDOT) strategic investment in Canada, including a Q4 2024 national advertising campaign, as well as a weeklong broadcast partnership with Breakfast Television- the number one morning show in Canada.

In the UK & Ireland February arrivals increased by 5.2% with British Airways flight capacity from London Heathrow remaining consistent. The number of visitors from Europe in February 2025 was down by 14.9% compared to the same period in 2024.

Visitors from Latin America in February 2025 increased by 10.8% over the same period in 2024 driven by a notable increase in visitors from Argentina.
