CILLA Girls Softball featured yet another one-run game on Wednesday, March 3rd, as the SOL Pumas rallied late to defeat the SOL Panthers, 7-6, in a game that certainly could have gone either way.

The SOL Panthers were unable to score in the second inning as the SOL Pumas featured two good infield defensive plays and a strikeout by pitcher Aydis Rostran. Aydis walked to lead off the bottom of the second and she scored on a two out RBI single by Angelie Bodden. Angelie came around to score on a throwing error after Aleigha General reached base following a strikeout. Tracey Campbell reached on a fielding error and she and Aleigha both scored later in the inning.

The SOL Panthers stormed back with five runs in the top of the third to take a 6-4 lead. Eowyn, McKenna Knapik and Avah Connors all walked and scored to lead off the inning. After two batters struck out, Keirsten McLaughlin walked and Demae Lee reached on an error. They both scored later in the inning.

In the bottom of the third Lindsay Bodden singled and scored a loan run for the SOL Pumas in an inning which saw McKenna start a great 3-6 double play for the SOL Panthers.

The SOL Panthers were unable to score in their final at bat, setting the stage for a SOL Pumas comeback. Angelie and Aleigha each walked to start the inning and advanced to second and third on a passed ball. Tracey also walked, and Angelie scored on the play as the ball got past the catcher. Less than a minute later, Aleigha scored in identical fashion for the walk off victory.

The game ball was presented to SOL Panthers coach Tania Knapik for her great enthusiasm and encouragement.
