The Cayman Heart Fund hosted its 6th annual Heart Warriors & Angels Beach Walk at the picturesque 7 Mile Public Beach on Sunday, 11 February 2024. The event, held in loving memory of baby Nolan Rory Evans, saw an incredible turnout, with over 300 participants joining the family and pet-friendly walk.
The Heart Warriors & Angels Beach Walk is not just a stroll along the shore; it’s a heartfelt tribute to those who have fought congenital heart disease and an opportunity to raise crucial funds for the Cayman Heart Fund’s Team Nolan Pediatric Program. This program, named in honour of Nolan Rory Evans, aims to increase awareness of congenital heart disease and provide vital financial support to families in the Cayman Islands facing the challenges of pediatric cardiology healthcare.
Ailian Evans, Nolan’s mother, shared her thoughts on the event, saying, “As a mother who has experienced the loss of a child due to congenital heart disease, I understand firsthand how expenses insurance doesn’t cover add up. Our family found solace in channeling our grief into action by organizing events like the Heart Warriors & Angels Beach Walk in Nolan’s memory.”
More than $27,000 was raised during the 6th annual Heart Warriors & Angels Beach Walk, a testament to the overwhelming support from the community for this important cause. The funds raised will help support families dealing with congenital heart defects.
