Are you seeking a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a student’s life? Mentoring Cayman, a programme begun 20 years ago by the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, is now accepting applications for the 2024/25 school year. It can make a big difference in the lives of the mentees, as well as those who volunteer as mentors. Sharing your knowledge, wisdom, and life experiences can be exceptionally rewarding, and many mentors sign up for a second – and then a third time.
Mentoring Cayman is a six-month youth programme that connects mentors from all industry sectors with enthusiastic mentees at the top of their class, fostering relationships that can last a lifetime
The new programme for 2024- 2025 begins in October, but the deadline for volunteer mentors is September. You must complete a Darkness to Light programme, submit a valid police clearance, and submit the application form.
“Being part of the Chamber of Commerce Mentorship program for the third consecutive year fills me with a sense of fulfilment and responsibility towards my mentees. Guiding them in making decisions for their bright future is truly rewarding,” said Jed Davis Ancheta.
About Mentoring Cayman
Since 2002, the Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Ministries of Education and Youth, has provided students with the guidance they need through Mentoring Cayman. The programme pairs a high-achieving year 11 public or private school student nominated by their principal with an influential and motivated business, community, or public leader.
