Research has uncovered a number of health benefits from Hibiscus tea. Drinking tea, any variety of tea is a healthy routine. Hibiscus tea is now coming to the fore and becoming popular due to the member of health benefits. There are several hundred species of hibiscus depending on the growth location. The hibiscus sabdariffa variety is the one used to make the tea. The tea is made by steeping parts of the plant in boiling water. It has a tart taste like cranberries. ANTIOXIDANTS - These are molecules that help fight compounds called free radicals. Power packed with antioxidants it fights off these destructive compounds.

LOWERS BLOOD PRESSURE - By fat this is one of the most outstanding discoveries of this amazing tea. Several studies have revealed that it lowers both systolic and diastolic levels. In one study with 65 people given the tea or a placebo, after 6 weeks those who drank this tea had significant decrease in both systolic and diastolic levels. LOWERS BLOOD FAT LEVELS - In addition to lowering pressure, some studies have found that it may also lower blood fat levels. In one study with 60 people who were given this tea or black tea for a month, those who consumed the hibiscus tea experienced increased good HDL levels, and decreased LDL levels.

BOOSTS LIVER HEALTH - Studies have shown that the tea promotes liver health, while at the same time keeps it healthy. One study with 19 overweight people found that taking the extract for 12 weeks increased liver steatosis, a condition characterized by accumulation of fat in the liver. This can lead to liver failure.
