The HSA is pleased to announce the commencement of its full-time chiropractic service in the new specialist clinic at the Smith Road Centre. This service will be conducted by HSA chiropractor Dr Robert Boulaine, BSC and DC.

Dr Boulaine employs functional Integrated Therapy Techniques (FITT) which encompasses a range of techniques. So whether a patient has an acute, painful condition or chronic back pain, the resource is available to have that patient pain free and back to optimal function.

Over the last 20 years, Dr Bouliane has garnered the respect of his patients, community, and colleagues by providing exceptional care to uncover the cause of ailments such as lower back and neck pain, disc injuries, arthritis, sports injuries, scoliosis, chronic illnesses/pain, fibromyalgia and many others.

“It is an honour to be the first ever Cayman Islands Health Services Authority chiropractor. I am excited to return to Cayman with my family and eager to be working with my astute colleagues to help people of Cayman who need an accessible and convenient alternative to restore their health. With the onset of COVID 19, other health concerns stemming from relative inactivity and unsuitable home office conditions have emerged. Chiropractic services can address some of these issues and move patients toward a healthier lifestyle,” stated Dr Bouliane, adding that he uses state-of-the-art chiropractic instruments and equipment that supports a multitude of gentle and exclusive techniques.

“Over the most recent years there has been a trend of people seeking more alternative solutions to pain and overall health rather than traditional medicine,” explained Medical Director Dr Delroy Jefferson. “One of those solutions include chiropractic techniques. It’s non-invasive, does not require ingesting drugs or chemicals and have very successful results.”

“It is a pleasure to have Dr Bouliane join our team of expert specialists. He brings with him a great deal of experience in his field. He also has a history working in the Cayman Islands and his exemplary work is already known by his former patients, many of whom are eager to return to his care. The HSA is proud to be able to offer our patients this service in-house for the first time ever and assure them that there are more to come as we continue to expand our services and locations to better meet the healthcare needs of our people,” Dr Jefferson stated.

Dr Bouliane received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Upon graduating he was awarded the health center achievement award in recognition of exemplary clinical performance and academic excellence. Early in his career, he earned his fellowship with the International Institute of Trigenics in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, giving him a unique approach to treating muscular conditions that have failed to heal with other types of therapies.

He believes that there is a simple and systematic approach to restore health to the human body. “Providing sufficiency where there is deficiency and purity where there is toxicity is my approach and philosophy and it has proven successful,” he said. “I refer to this as functional chiropractic.”
