The International College of the Cayman Islands (ICCI) is pleased to announce that another four students who took the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Certification Exam Review Course at ICCI have passed their SHRM exam and earned their professional qualification in Human Resources Management.

ICCI Trustee and Course Leader and Facilitator, Mrs. Colleen Williams, GRP, CCP, SPHR, SHRM-SCP coordinated the fourth cohort held in the Cayman Islands. Of the students who took the SHRM exam, 87.5% have passed.

ICCI extends congratulations to – Ms. Melisa Hamilton, Ms. Brittany Miller, Mrs. Jennifer Leach-Tippetts, and Ms. Rebecca Jordison.

HR and Office Manager at Massive Equipment Rentals & Sales, Ms. Jennifer Leach-Tippetts, M.A., SHRM-CP said “The SHRM- CP test was a tough exam which required many hours of studying and preparation to give you the best chance of success. Having said that, preparing for the exam and the information and skills I learned that will enhance my performance in HR is irreplaceable. I recommend the SHRM learning platform to all HR professionals to learn best HR practices and enhance your professional and leadership skills.”

Human Resources Officer for the Ministry of Employment, Border Control and Labour, Ms. Brittany Miller, BSc, SHRM-CP, said, “My experience taking and passing the exam: Nervous was an understatement. It was intense and my eyes were glued to the screen for 4 hours.  I knew that I needed every minute that I had, so there were no breaks for me. All the late nights, early mornings, and Saturdays spent in classes, it was no longer a wish, it was official, I’m a SHRM Certified Professional and it was worth it.”

“In hindsight, I was a little worried that I wasn’t going to pass this exam, because the material for the course is very comprehensive. Really and truly the exam wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be. I took a lot of practice exams and the results from those did throw me off into thinking that I wasn’t going to do as well as I did. But putting the time in and studying shows that if you do the same, you will pass.

Administrative and Financial Manager for the Department of Environment, Ms. Rebecca Jordison, BSc, SHRM-CP, said “The exam was challenging. Having the prep class and the support of a local group of SHRM people was extremely helpful and motivating. I am so thankful to have the ICCI classes to assist in preparation.”

Ms. Melisa Hamilton, MBA, MSHRM, SHRM-CP, Registrar at ICCI, said: “Although it was quite nerve-racking to sit the four-hour exam, the preparation classes at ICCI and the online practice tests enabled me to understand the concepts of the best practices in the Human Resource field. That way, I was able to apply such knowledge to the questions posed and pass the exam the first time!”

ICCI is recognized by SHRM to offer the SHRM Certification Review and Preparation Course for the SHRM-CP (Certified Professional) and the SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional).  Courses are taught by experienced practitioners and Cayman-based SHRM Certified Human Resources Professionals.
