Kirk Freeport is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2022, and has revealed a number of giveaways, shopping perks and philanthropic donations to commemorate 50 years since first opening a few jewelry counters in the community grocery store. Anniversary celebrations include a monthly product sweepstakes with prizes worth up to USD $10,000 each; gift cards to any residents turning 50 or celebrating their 50th+ wedding anniversary 2022; free branded gifts for those who make purchases of US$500 or more; US$50,000 additional donation to local charities; and several events.
“This is a momentous year for us in celebrating 50 years of a Caymanian, family business, that has grown to be the largest duty-free retailer in the Caribbean,” said Chris Kirkconnell, Vice-President of Kirk Freeport. “We are excited to announce the various charitable donations that we will be making on top of our usual commitments, and look forward to celebrating with as many customers as possible with gifts, prizes and gift cards throughout the year.”
Notably, the 50th Anniversary Sweepstakes is a residents-only program that rewards one lucky Kirk Freeport shopper each month a with luxury jewellery or watch piece from one of Kirk Freeport’s luxury brands. Residents who make USD$100 purchase from 1 April 2022, until 31 December 2022, will be included in the monthly drawing. The prizes include donated pieces from Rolex, Roberto Coin, Mikimoto, Tag Heuer, Breitling, Chopard, Omega, and David Yurman, among others.
Another residents-only program being offered is one that honours those who share the jubilee anniversary or birthday. Those with a 50th birthday in 2022 are eligible for a $50 gift card and those celebrating a 50-year anniversary or higher are eligible for a $500 gift card. Eligible honourees should fill out an online application form and submit supporting documentation.
Kirk Freeport also is making a special donation above and beyond its annual commitments this year by presenting a total of USD$50,000 to five charities that reflect the tenants that Kirk Freeport was founded on including: maritime industry, family, entrepreneurship, craftsmanship, and Cayman heritage. Selected organisations are The Cayman Island Sailing Club, Cayman Islands Seafarers Association, Cayman Islands YMCA, Inspire Cayman’s Build Your Future program, and the National Gallery.
