KPMG in the Cayman Islands has raised over CI$21,000 for non-profit literacy organization, LIFE, at their inaugural Tennis at the Terrace, a Wimbledon-inspired event.

The event was held at the beginning of July and saw over 200 guests arrive at the KPMG offices at SIX Cricket Square to watch the Wimbledon Championships live, bid on a silent auction, play virtual reality tennis and enjoy a gourmet brunch by The Brasserie, which included traditional Pimm’s and strawberries and cream.

Guests bid on a silent auction of a number of pieces of famous tennis memorabilia, including signed photographs from Andre Agassi, Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras and Novak Djokovic, a signed tennis racket from Naomi Osaka, and a signed tennis ball and shirt from Andy Murray.

Guests’ generous donations to the silent auction and raffle raised over CI$21,000 for LIFE. Founded in 2012, LIFE’s mission is to significantly increase literacy levels across the Cayman Islands by championing educational initiatives to target reading ability among school-age children and adults.

Anthony Cowell, Partner and Head of Markets at KPMG said, “After a challenging year, it was wonderful to see our people and our clients enjoying themselves together at KPMG’s first Tennis at the Terrace event.”

“We thought it would be a fun idea to bring The Wimbledon Championships to the Cayman Islands. It was a great opportunity for our people to spend time with our clients, enjoy some quality live sport and raise money for an amazing charity that invests in the future of our children in the Cayman Islands.”

“We are so thankful to those who attended, and who so graciously donated at the event.” said Mr.Cowell.
