The Liquor Licensing Board of the Cayman Islands advises licensees that they are not permitted to sell intoxicating liquor on Election Day, April 14, during the stated hours.
Mr. Noel Williams, Chairman of the Liquor Licensing Board stated, this is a requirement under Section 91 of the Elections Act (2019 Revision), which states “no intoxicating liquor shall be sold or given away at any premises in all electoral districts from the opening of the polls and one hour after polls are closed”.
Anyone found breaching the Act is liable to a fine of $500.00 or six months imprisonment.
