Shortly after 1:40AM on Friday, 5 January, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of a burglary in progress at a restaurant and bar on the waterfront on North Church Street, George Town. Officers arrived at the location and observed a man fitting the description of the culprit, who fled on foot upon seeing the police. Officers pursued the man on foot and subsequently detained and arrested him on suspicion of burglary.
The man, age 31 of George Town, remains in custody as investigations continue.
