On Wednesday, 13 April, police conducted an operation in the vicinity of Boilers Road, George Town, involving uniform officers, the Firearms Response Unit, and K-9, with the support of the Air Operations Unit.
During the operation police approached a wanted man, who attempted to evade police in a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and the man, age 30 of George Town, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, in relation to the several recent robbery incidents; and on suspicion of aggravated burglary, in relation to a historic burglary. He was further arrested for traffic offenses committed as he attempted to evade police.
He remains in custody as investigations continue.
