At about 3:15AM on Monday, 25 April, officers responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on Powery Road, West Bay. It was reported that one of the occupants of the address confronted a man who had entered. The man then fled to the rear of the premises on foot. Several items were subsequently discovered to be missing from the residence, some of which were later found outside.
Later the same day, following further investigations, police attended an address on Selkirk Drive, George Town. Police attempted to speak to a man at the location, but the man fled from the officers, leaving behind a bag. The bag was searched and found to contain items taken during the burglary, which have subsequently been identified by the victims. Efforts continue to locate the man who fled.
Police then attended another location on Caribbean Lane, West Bay, and conducted a search. Although no further stolen property was recovered, a man at the location, age 42 of West Bay, who fit the description of the suspect in the burglary, was arrested on suspicion of burglary in relation to the incident, in addition to drug offenses, and remains in custody. The incident remains under investigation.
