On Thursday, 9 January, officers responded to a report of an assault at a location in the Morgans Harbour area of West Bay. A woman had left work at another location when she was approached by a man known to her, who threatened her with a knife and forced her to leave in his vehicle. He then drove her to Morgans Harbour where she exited the vehicle and was assisted by a member of the public. A struggle ensued, during which she was struck in the head and the man damaged the window of another vehicle at the location. The man then fled the location in his vehicle.
A man, age 21 of West Bay, has been arrested in relation to the incident and charged with Abduction, Assault ABH, Threats to Kill, Damage to Property and Carrying an Offensive Weapon. He appears in court today, 14 January.
