The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is extending an open invitation to prospective recruits, students and interested persons to attend its Public Safety Careers Fair at the University College of the Cayman Islands, Sir Vassel Johnson Multipurpose Hall on Friday 22 September, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
All MHA agencies – Cayman Islands Fire Service, Cadet Corps, Regiment, His Majesty’s Prisons, the Department of Public Safety Communications and Department of Community Rehabilitation – will showcase the various elements of their collective roles in keeping the Cayman Islands safe.
There will also be representatives from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, the Cayman Islands Coast Guard, Customs and Border Control, Emergency Medical Services and other organisations that focus on delivering and supporting public safety within the community.
While the fair is open for all to attend, MHA is keen on engaging young Caymanians who wish to serve their country within the uniformed services or other public safety organisations. “As we continue to grow exponentially as a nation, the need for a robust and capable public safety sector is also rapidly growing. I would encourage our young people to consider the heroic field of public safety and the vast number of opportunities for growth within it”, said Minister for Home Affairs Hon. Sabrina Turner.
The fair will feature a number of activities along with live demonstrations and free giveaways.
