The Ministry of Border Control and Labour on behalf of Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) announces that Cabinet has approved the appointment of new members to the Immigration Boards; namely the Caymanian Status and Permanent Residency Board (CSPR), the Business Staffing Plan Board (BSP), and the Immigration Appeals Tribunal (IAT).
These new board appointments are for a 2-year period, effective immediately until 30 September 2025 and members will serve in accordance with the Immigration (Transition) Act (2022 Revision). The Minister for Border Control & Labour, Hon. Dwayne Seymour said “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated members of the Immigration Boards who have graciously agreed to serve a two-year term. Your commitment to upholding the Immigration Act is instrumental in ensuring the integrity of our immigration systems. As stewards of this crucial legislation, you play a pivotal role in shaping the socio-economic landscape of the Cayman Islands and I look forward to working collaboratively with you as we continue to make meaningful contributions to the effectiveness of our immigration systems.”
The members bring a wealth of experience and expertise with their diverse backgrounds and have a deep understanding of the challenges associated with immigration, as well and the opportunities that exists within labour markets. Their willingness to undertake this responsibility not only reflects their individual dedication to public service but also acknowledges the collective understanding of the importance of a well-regulated immigration system.
