Music Workshop Held in Grand Cayman

A music workshop at the Marriott Hotel in Grand Cayman featured top executives from the recording industry.

A music workshop was held at the Marriott Hotel in Grand Cayman on Friday 28th April, which featured top executives in the recording industry, who comprised a panel that spoke to an audience of several hundred Caymanian artists about various aspects of the music business.

Members of the audience listened as the speakers each gave testimonials about their time in the industry, which they described as competitive and challenging but also rewarding.

The session, which was organised Radio Host Dane Ramoon, along with Ironshore Studios, featured Executive VP of A&R at Atlantic Records, Mr. Dallas Martin, Co-Founder of Arketek Music Management, Ms Edith Bo, Multi-Platinum Engineer and Co-Founder of Arketek Music Management, Mr. Stan Greene and Music Manager, Ms Chantal Felice, as well as A&R, Mr. Yazid Brit.

After hearing about the options available for artists and the many jobs behind the scenes in the music business, the panel took questions from the audience, followed by a meet and greet networking session, which featured cocktails and bites.

The music industry in the Cayman Islands has been experience a resurgence with the introduction of Ironshore Studios, a state of the art facility for recording and artist development, as well as a Everheart Records, which has signed up and coming acts such as Danny Ebanks.

Recent developments in the area of publishing, recording and production and film in the Cayman Islands have been a strong source of inspiration for creatives hoping to contribute to the arts.
