Officers Visit the St. Ignatius Brownies

Detective Constable Sam Sillitoe, who is our RCIPS Major Incident Room Manager, was asked to attend the St. Ignatius Catholic School's Brownies Programme and speak with the girls involved on what it is like to be a female police officer. She told the girls about what her job entails and about her experience being a police officer in the Cayman Islands.

The Brownie attendees were enamoured with her presentation, where she showed them how to use various police-issued equipment like the handcuff and baton, as well as evidence and crime scene tape. DC Alan Sherwin, who was also in attendance, assisted with the presentations.

DC Sillitoe also answered a number of questions regarding her duties, what the qualifications are to become a police officer, as well as various crimes that have been reported on the news.
