Public health officials report that 123 persons received the COVID-19 vaccine at a special vaccination drive for those aged 16 to 24 years old on Friday 9 April 2021.
The Public Health Department hosted the event at Camana Bay, where the Doctors Hospital provided use of their clinic from 3-7p.m.
D.J. Dave Kelly provided music from 5-7p.m., courtesy of sponsor DMS Broadcasting. Meanwhile Foster's Supermarket donated gift card prizes and discounted food.
Thanking all those young people who had come out on Friday evening, CMO Dr John Lee, urged other young people still considering taking the vaccine to speak to their peers about the experience.
“At the end of the day, being vaccinated against COVID-19 is perhaps the most important step that we can take to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe from this disease and the risks that it poses to the future of the Cayman Islands”, Dr Lee remarked.
Public Health Department expressed its gratitude to all event sponsors including: the Health Services Authority, Camana Bay, DMS Broadcasting, Doctors Hospital, and Foster’s Supermarket.
