The Cayman Islands Postal Service (CIPS) advises the public to be wary of a fraudulent notice that appears to be popping up on social media sites.
The message uses the real CIPS logo, purports to be from Postmaster General Sheena Glasgow, and solicits personal information with the promise of an iPhone. It was reported to the Postal Service today by a concerned member of the public.
Noting that it is against Postal Service policy to solicit personal information in such a manner, the Acting Postmaster General Melissa Martinez-Ebanks says her agency has reached out to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service to get to the bottom of the matter.
She reminds members of the public never to share personal information via social media and urges any members of the public who come across the notice to report it to Financial Crimes Unit of the RCIPS at tel.949-4222.
