Cayman Islands law firm, Priestleys, has appointed experienced barrister, Sue-Helen McConnell, as an associate in the firm’s dispute resolution department.
Sue-Helen’s appointment brings the number of experienced advocates in the Priestleys litigation team to three; as she joins partner, Guy Dilliway-Parry, and associate, David Lewis-Hall. Sue-Helen has experience in both commercial and civil litigation; including personal and corporate insolvency, probate, employment, personal injury and clinical negligence.
Before joining Priestleys, Sue-Helen was an associate at another Cayman Islands law firm, and prior to that she practised at the Bar of Northern Ireland on a range of commercial and civil litigation matters. Sue-Helen has extensive advocacy experience across all stages of the litigation process, having routinely appeared in Court in Northern Ireland and the Cayman Islands.
Guy Dilliway-Parry, partner and head of dispute resolution at Priestleys, commented: “Sue-Helen is a skilled and experienced advocate who will provide our clients with robust representation both in and outside court. Sue-Helen studied law at Queen’s University Belfast and gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Studies at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at Queen’s also. Sue-Helen was awarded the Attorney General’s Pupillage Scholarship and appointed to the Attorney General’s Junior Counsel Panel in Northern Ireland while she was a junior Barrister.
Sue-Helen was called to the Bar in Northern Ireland in 2013 and was admitted to the Cayman Islands Bar in 2018.
